Life, routines, even love changes in the summer. Sometimes things become unhinged as relaxation takes over and we let go. It's a season that ushers in the unexpected and celebrates spontaneity. It is no wonder that Shakespeare wrote an entire play dedicated to  what may happen on a Midsummer's Night. If Summer were a chapter in a book it would be entitled The Book of Longing, simply because things slow down and there is time to reconnect to that part of our authentic selves. In that brief moment when desires resurface and the heat rises a spark is born, that if not ignored could ignite a brilliant fire. Once in a while it is necessary to revisit the longings one may have. They can reveal many truths. And if you are brave enough, you may even decide to jump.
