I have a respectful relationship with the ocean. I fear its power and I never test its strength for that reason, yet I also find peace in that very power and in its ancient rhythm.
When you walk into the ocean you are living in another element. Walking becomes increasingly difficult the deeper you go and sitting is pointless. You begin to move with her, allowing its waves and inner spaces of force to retreat you into silence. Even the reluctance you felt upon walking in to her arms has been coaxed to overcome its fear.
So you stay awhile, until you feel ready to emerge onto land, this time bringing the ocean with you, because you feel different now, as if you have returned from a dream. -tM
