Bound to beauty in all of its infinite forms, this 17th Century statue standing in the garden of a villa; solitary, lost in the trees, cypresses, and pines makes me long for a secret affair. -tM

A Private Refuge

An Italian Baroque Palace turned elegant hotel in which the architects and design team honoured the existing structure of the space. I am enchanted by its beauty and elegance. Sensual and simple marries tradition and discretion. -tM

Everything Old is New Again

I am appreciative of the attention to detail in this Italian restaurant. Merging the old world with the new, from the flag poles that fly the local news, to the booths, that with a simple mechanical turn of the table can go from an intimate seating for one to friendship for two. Function, form, and beautiful design. Once lost, now found, simplicity is here to stay. -tM

Dream A Little Dream

The Il Sereno hotel in Lake Como, Italy was designed by Patricia Urquiola and opened in 2016.

The palatial estate, the the beauty of its design, both interior and exterior are what dreams are made of. Its inspiration rests on the infinite beauty of the landscape and is evocative of romance and sexy Italian summers.

I am hopeful of one day returning to Lake Como, and when I do, I will make it a priority to sojourn here. If only for a night or two. -tM
