The knowledge of a tree. There is so much we can learn from them. -tM
I love that the trees tower over the buildings.
The older I get the more fascination and connection I find with trees. I study them in all of there stages of life in appreciation of the secret knowledge they carry within there silent existence and amongst the moving space between them.
They inspire such large and melodious thoughts in me. They make me trust my journey, they reinforce the strength that resides within me, and they remind me of the beauty the life has to offer at every stage and through every transition. -tM
"Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life." -Hermann Hesse
Taking solace in the beauty of trees. Giving my quiet time to mother nature. -tM
"At night I dream that you and I are two plants that grew together, roots entwined, and that you know the earth and rain like my mouth..."
-Pablo Neruda, Regalo de un Poeta
It is interesting to note, that this project was rejected many times. Finally the art installation was allowed to commence in a few remote places in Germany. Over 178 trees were wrapped. The woven polyester fabric that was used is normally used to protect the trees from frost and heavy snow.
The Wrapped Trees pushed the translucent fabric outward and created dynamic volumes of light and shadow which moved in the wind creating new forms and surfaces taking shape by the ropes used on the fabric.
Quite a magical perspective.
